Overview
The Egyptian government, through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, offers scholarships to foreign students from African, Arab, and partner countries to study at Egyptian public universities. These scholarships aim to strengthen educational and cultural ties between Egypt and its partner nations, particularly within the African Union, the Arab League, and countries with bilateral agreements with Egypt.

Eligibility
- Students from African Union member states, Arab countries, and countries with bilateral agreements with Egypt
- Must hold a secondary school certificate or equivalent (for undergraduate); or a bachelor’s/master’s degree for postgraduate studies
- Must meet the academic and health requirements set by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education
- Non-Arabic speakers must complete a one-year Arabic language preparatory course before beginning their degree programme
How to Apply
- Step 1 – Contact the Egyptian embassy or consulate in your home country to inquire about available scholarships and bilateral agreements.
- Step 2 – Obtain the application form and check the required documents from the Egyptian embassy or the Egyptian Cultural Bureau in your country.
- Step 3 – Prepare required documents including academic transcripts, birth certificate, health certificate, and motivation letter.
- Step 4 – Submit your application through the Egyptian embassy in your home country within the application period (typically April–July each year).
- Step 5 – Await notification of acceptance from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt.
