Türkiye Scholarships (Türkiye Bursları) is a prestigious scholarship programme funded by the Turkish government for international students wishing to study in Turkey. What’s Included?
Türkiye Scholarships is a fully funded programme that provides comprehensive support to scholars. The benefits package includes:
- University Placement & Tuition: Scholars are placed in a Turkish university and their tuition fees are fully covered.
- Monthly Stipend: A living allowance is provided each month to cover daily expenses throughout the scholarship period.
- Accommodation: Dormitory or accommodation support is arranged for scholars during their studies.
- Health Insurance: Full health insurance coverage is provided for the duration of the scholarship.
- Turkish Language Course: A one-year Turkish language preparation course is included for scholars who require it before beginning their degree programme.
- Round-Trip Flight Ticket: International travel costs (to and from Turkey) are covered by the scholarship.
Eligibility
Türkiye Scholarships is open to international students from eligible countries. Applicants must meet the requirements set out in the official annual programme guidelines. General eligibility criteria include:
- Must be a citizen of an eligible country (Turkish citizens and those with Turkish citizenship are not eligible).
- Must not be enrolled in a Turkish university at the time of application (current students in Turkey are generally not eligible for the standard scholarship).

How to Apply
The application process is carried out entirely online through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS). Follow these steps to apply:
- Step 1 – Create an account: Register on the TBBS portal at tbbs.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr during the official application window (typically January 10 – February 20).
- Step 2 – Complete the application form: Fill in all required personal, academic, and programme preference information accurately.
- Step 3 – Upload documents: Attach all required supporting documents as listed in the official guidelines (academic transcripts, identification documents, language certificates, etc.).
- Step 4 – Submit your application: Review and submit your completed application before the deadline. No application fees are charged.
- Step 5 – Evaluation and interview: Applications are reviewed by the Türkiye Scholarships committee. Shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview (April–June).
- Step 6 – Await results: Final results are announced in early August. Successful candidates then complete initial administrative procedures before travelling to Turkey in September.
