OVERVIEW
The Philippine government offers several scholarship programmes through two main agencies: CHED (Commission on Higher Education) and DOST (Department of Science and Technology). These scholarships support Filipino students and, under bilateral agreements, international students from partner countries.
PROGRAMME TYPES
CHED (Commission on Higher Education) Scholarships:
- UniFAST (Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education): Free tuition and other school fees at state universities and colleges (SUCs) for Filipino citizens
- CHED Faculty Development Programme: For faculty of higher education institutions pursuing postgraduate studies
- CHED International Scholarship and Financial Assistance: For Filipino students to study abroad
DOST (Department of Science and Technology) Scholarships:
- DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship: Merit-based scholarship for science and technology courses
- DOST-ERDT Graduate Scholarship: For Master’s and PhD in engineering, science, and technology
- DOST-ASTHRDP: Advanced Science and Technology Human Resource Development Programme for postgraduate studies

HOW TO APPLY?
- UniFAST: Automatic for enrolled students at state universities and colleges
- DOST scholarships: Apply through the DOST-SEI official website (sei.dost.gov.ph) during the application period
- CHED scholarships: Apply through the CHED regional office
- For international students: Contact the Philippine embassy for bilateral scholarship opportunities
